Voces del Territorio/ Grupo Núcleo de IPRI en México
An Indigenous-led organization strengthening collective rights and self-determination in Mexico
Voces del Territorio is a civil society organization led by Indigenous Peoples, created to support Indigenous communities in defending their collective rights through the development and implementation of international advocacy strategies.
In Mexico, we are responsible for coordinating the work of Indigenous Peoples Rights International (IPRI) through a Core Group of Organizations that collaborate in the country to strengthen the defense and promotion of Indigenous Peoples’ rights.
We aspire to be an organization that promotes and safeguards the rights of Indigenous Peoples, working alongside them to identify tools and strategies that strengthen their capacity for self-defense, guided by the principles of solidarity, loyalty, and friendship.
Main areas of work
- We work together with Indigenous Peoples, their organizations, and the institutions that support them in their struggles against criminalization, impunity, and violence.
- We collaborate in the defense of their rights through international advocacy actions, grounded in participatory and horizontal research processes.
- Together, we document the issues from their own perspective, to bring visibility to them before international bodies and pressure the Mexican State to address their needs and fully guarantee their rights.
