Raquel Xiloj is a Maya K’iche’ sociologist from Guatemala with over five years of experience working with Indigenous-led funds, grassroots organizations, and global human rights initiatives. She has supported grantmaking cycles, community-centered research, and monitoring and evaluation processes across Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Raquel’s work focuses on Indigenous Peoples’ rights, gender justice, and strengthening community-led responses to social and environmental challenges. She currently serves as the Assistant Coordinator for the Legal Defense & Sanctuary Fund at IPRI, contributing to protection and support strategies for frontline Indigenous defenders.
